Accreditation Reviewers play a pivotal role in fulfilling the mission and vision of Praesidium Accreditation, ensuring organizations meet the highest standards in abuse prevention. Accreditation Reviewers assist with Praesidium's site visit verification component by joining Praesidium Accreditation Specialists on-site visits to help conduct interviews with employees and volunteers to evaluate and verify the implementation of Praesidium standards.
Accreditation Reviewers are individuals with industry and abuse prevention experience, making them knowledgeable about the latest theory and practice, providing varied perspectives and additional expertise to support the organization with their accreditation efforts.
Before deciding to apply to become an Accreditation Reviewer, we recommend a thorough review of the Accreditation Reviewer Service Description, Accreditation Reviewer Code of Conduct and other key requirements and benefits below!
The following qualifications represent the training, education, and/or work experience required to perform the essential duties and responsibilities successfully:
Journey to become a Praesidium Accreditation Reviewer
Applications for Accreditation Reviewer positions are accepted year-round but will be processed quarterly. Upon submission, applicants will proceed through our Selection & Screening Process, which includes a Group Interview. Accepted applicants must successfully complete a criminal background check and verification through the National Sex Offender Public Website.
Guardians selected to become Reviewers must complete Praesidium’s Accreditation Reviewer Training, a brief series-based pathway through Praesidium Academy, before assisting with any on-site visits.
Once applicants pass the Selection & Screening Process, those selected as Reviewers will receive details about the required training. This training includes participation in a Mock Interview Practice Session. All training must be completed before attending the practice session.
Below is the schedule for 2026:
*If you cannot attend any of the scheduled sessions for Steps 2 or 3, you may join a later session. Alternatively, the Praesidium Accreditation Team will work with you individually to arrange a suitable make-up plan.
As a reviewer, it's really taught me how to think critically about safety standards and how to implement them in a variety of contexts, with a variety of people in different roles. I take away a number of strategies that I've brought back to my own organization, including strategies, as well as a number of training materials at our school where we were able to enhance based on some of the things I learned about from various organizations and how they did the training. It's been an invaluable experience and one that I really haven't been able to duplicate anywhere else. It's incredibly invigorating to see what other people are doing and how committed they are to implementing abuse prevention.
